We had read several reviews on the food and were very eager to try it out. Can't be beat!!ĭuring a family vacation, we decided to try the buffet at Harrah's casino. All this, and walk outside and you're literally steps from the French Quarter. Parking in the Harrah's multi-level garages located at 501 and 601 Convention Center Blvd is FREE with 1/2 hour of play at the casino. There are lots and lots of slot machines of all kinds and denominations.

Blackjack minimums on weekends are $15, Craps $10 to $15. It's deplorable, and Harrah’s rule does not let it happen. I have seen too many times parents in Las Vegas and Atlantic City leaving their children in arcades and the like while they go gamble. Being a parent as well as someone who enjoys wagering, I do support Harrah's 21 age rule (concerning entering the building). Under 21 are not allowed through the casino doors, not even for the restaurants. On the Canal Street side of the casino, McAllister’s Deli is my first choice also there is Starbucks and Fuddruckers. The food selection is excellent, and the staff attentive. The buffet is best at dinner, and expect to wait on the weekends if you arrive after 6pm. Everyone is greeted at the door, and at all other times when interacting with an employee.

The service level of employees there is exceptional, and they make one feel welcome. That said, the casino is very New Orleans themed, and tastefully done. During the bad times after the hurricane, although they closed for repairs, they kept their employees on the payroll for months. Additionally, they are the reason for the expansion of Fulton Street adjacent to Poydras. They have brilliantly partnered with hotels, restaurants, and businesses in the CBD and French Quarter area. Harrah's is an exceptionally 'Class Act' in the City Of New Orleans. I've been going to New Orleans for years, in the past for work related issues, now as a tourist.
